4/3: What Makes Us Click: International Perspectives on Dating Culture in the US & Abroad
Tuesday, April 3rd from 2:30-3:30pm in Marvin 311
This student workshop is part of GW's Diversity Summit and will feature a panel of international students who will share their perspectives on dating culture at GW and abroad. They will discuss how to create meaningful, healthy relationships on campus. The panel discussion will be moderated by Danielle Cyr, Program Associated for the Gender Equity Initiative in International Affairs. Following the panel, participants will be invited to join a photo campaign highlighting their thoughts on healthy relationships.

Join GW SASA in welcoming Beverly Gooden, a social activist most known for her viral #WhyIStayed which sheds light on survivors of domestic violence. She will be speaking about survivorship, how we can see and address sexual violence in our communities, and how we can all be better advocates and activists in the age of #MeToo.

Tuesday, April 10th from 11-2pm in the Mid-Campus Quad
GWPD self-defense instructors will come out and teach participants a few techniques and tips. Additionally, GW officers will offer the opportunity for students to engrave their valuables with their name or initials.

Consent is a part of everyday life and exists beyond just sexual relationships. In this guided discussion, SASA and DSC will be discussing the different ways everyday consent is ignored or misunderstood, especially when disability is involved.

Purposeful movement has been proven to be healing for trauma survivors, so together we will be going through an accessible, adaptable, trauma-informed yoga flow. Following this, we will reflect through a guided meditation and journaling practice, ending with a self-care skill share. Bring your open mind, heart, and a self-care practice you would like to share with the group! *Yoga mats can be provided*

This conversation will be a survivor-centric discussion on many hot topics, including: healthy sex after trauma, supporting partners who are survivors, and sex education about pleasure and empowerment. We will be joined by a special guest who will share their knowledge in a dynamic Skype session and will be followed by an interactive conversation.
